Tempura Haus

Tempura Haus facade

Tempura Haus is a Japanese restaurant located at Badminton City, Brgy. Linao, Ormoc. Just a few minutes drive from the city.  But for us who are not familiar with this restaurant, finding the place really gave us a hard time. We had to ask a couple of street bystanders to finally locate the spot.

View inside the restaurant

When we arrived at the place a charming waitress welcomed us with a big smile. My first impression was that it was an exclusive and expensive restaurant but after the waitress handed us the menu surprisingly the prices were very affordable. Though the place looked quite small for a restaurant, it could probably just accommodate less than 50 people and its a little hidden, but there was something special in this place that made its ambiance unique.

They serve Bento, Maki, Sushi, Tofu, Tempura, Ramen, Shogayaki, Sashimi, Donburi, Noodles, and also Desserts. Seeing their menu would really give you a hard time figuring out what to order first. So, we ordered 2 kinds of Maki (California Maki, Futomaki and French Maki). California Maki was delicious, just a little bit soury if you intended to squeeze the lemon too much. French Maki and Futomaki became my favorites. They tasted a little bit sweet but very flavorful. Just right for my taste buds. Surely, i will order it again if i will come back next time. We also ordered Maguro and Kani Sushi, its a tuna sushi, the taste is just fine nothing extraordinary. Probably because i wasn't used to eating it yet. Kani is a crab sushi. It tasted delicious as well.

French Maki  P95
(Shrimp tempura and Teriyaki sauce)

Futomaki  P65
( Crab, Egg, Cucumber)
Maguro Sushi  P58

Kani Sushi

Of course we did not miss ordering the Bento and Donburi, we had Mixed Seafoods Bento and Tempura and Sashimi Bento. Both were delicious and served in just the right sizes. For donburi,we had Teri Teriyaki Don. Its chiken in teriyaki sauce topped on plain rice. Very appetizing, i really enjoyed the dish. They also serve drinks and we just had iced tea.

(Ebi, Ika and Tuna in Teppan Sauce and Moyashi Itame)

Tori Teriyaki Don  P69
In the end, searching for this restaurant was really worth it.  Its not just that their food were not too pricey, they also serve many other dishes with delish flavors that are yet to be tasted by us when we come back again. A surely must come food spot with great ambiance. We were really satisfied with all the dishes that we consumed and we left the premises with full belly. Thanks Tempura Haus. =)
