Gerry's Grill at Robinsons

Its been a month since i last blog a restaurant. Sometimes if you really had huge passion for these things, you really wont allow the time to just pass by without making another one. Anyway, i had this impeccable chance to dine in one of the finest restaurants in Tacloban City with my cousin and her family a couple of weeks ago, at the famous Gerry's Grill Restaurant at Robinson's Mall.

Gerry's Grill is located at the side wing of Robinson's. So when we get there, the group have decided to try and see what this restaurant has to offer. The spot was full packed, we weren't able to find our seats inside the establishment since there were already lots of customer who dined in before us. Even though, the waiters were able to gave us good seats near the entrance of Gerry's. My first impression was that the food here must be good since the place was filled with many patronizers. Though the place was not that big, but the ambiance was great and their crew showed excellent service.

So when we were ready to order, the assigned waiter to our table provided us with menu. When i was checking their menu, i must say Gerry's Grill really has a lot to offer. Their menu was packed with sumptuous food ranging  from grilled sea foods (Filipino and Asian favorites), soups and veggies for the diet conscious diners, full meals and noodles and some tempting desserts. Considering the size of the servings (which were indicated in the menu) the prices were surprisingly not high. Their menu was created to fit the taste of the many Filipino customers who love to devour grilled foods.

That time, we were very hungry so we ordered plenty. We had Chopsuey, Nilagang Bulalo, Spicy Garlic Fried Chicken, Grilled Tuna Belly and Pancit Bihon. We also tried their Veggie Rice which i think was unusual to me but really delicious. We ordered Tower Iced Tea out of curiosity, we found out that it was just the usual and  was only good for 4 persons. The food was served at a very reasonable time of 10- 15 mins.

Chopsuey was served in a size that's enough for two. We might had tasted this in other common Filipino restaurants but theirs was a little extraordinary. It has a very savory flavor, a good indication that the ingredients used were fresh. The taste of the vegetables combine well the seafood flavor.Very ideal for vegetarians.

Perfect to our  veggie diet was a veggie rice. Nothing could be yummier than this because its mixed with vegetables of many kinds. A healthy option for rice. It also has a colorful look that made it very attractive and would want you to dig in right away. Serving size was ideal for 2.

Nilagang Bulalo  P305

We personally chose to order nilagang bulalo because that time we were in the mood of sipping warm soup, just to  refresh ourselves from a long day walk. Their nilagang bulalo was complemented with beef shanks with marrow still inside the bone and mixed leafy veggies. It was flavorful and a very perfect cold weather food.

Another viand that we tried was their Spicy Garlic Fried Chicken, I was thinking that this dish might be same of the Thai's Spicy Fried Chicken. And when i tasted it, it was actually has the same flavor except that it had a stronger spicy garlic flavor which probably made their recipe unique. This order can feed 3-4 persons. But this recipe is not ideal if you'll be dining with your kids because of the strong spicy flavor of the the chicken.

One of the reasons why we ate at Gerry's was to try their grilled foods. Unfortunately many have already dined before us so the other grilled dishes that we also wanted to try were already not available. It was a good thing that Grilled Tuna Belly was still available so we were able to taste one of their best sellers. The Tuna has an attractive perfect brown color. It was tender and juicy and bursting with so much flavor. Examining it closely i could really see the juice coming out from the tuna meat, a good indication that the meat was grilled perfectly. Serving size, ideal for single person.

Since we were bringing kids that time, we added pancit bihon because its their favorite.

Tower Iced Tea

Over all presentation of their foods i would rate it with 10/10. We had a nice experience dining there. The Serving size of their meals were large and very affordable. The ambiance was great and the staffs were very accommodating. If you are in the mood of eating delectable meal, this place is highly recommended. Very ideal for a full meal with the family or for a night out with friends. Gerry's Grill offers a superb place and a full packed menu perfect for any occasions at a very reasonable budget.
